I think there must be something up with the way C1 is seeing this file or maybe my camera's RGB balance / calibration in the high end that only C1 is seeing. Even when I really try hard with overly aggressive highlight recovery, it still doesn't looka s bad as the default in C1. I've taken a look in Raw Therapee, Irident, Darktable and as mentioned Lightroom / PS and none of them by default as bad as C1. It's perplexing to me that I need to in the first place. I'm able to "correct" around the issue, I'm just not sure why I have to. Levels and curves adjustments on the red channel are very effective with the two images I downloaded.

I looked at both Linear and Film Standard (Auto) curves with your images and both are OK to use but it looked like there was little to be gained form the DNG file by going Linear.

Where possible view the images at 100% to avoid display compression effects. White Balance (to set a reasonable starting point). The colouring is slightly different but the effect is the same as I described earlier.
